The Glassy-winged sharpshooter (Homalodisca coagulata) is a large leafhopper insect from the family Cicadellidae. They have piercing, sucking mouthparts and rows of spine-like setae (hairs) in their hind legs.
They are believed to be responsible for transmitting Pierce's disease in grapevines, citrus plants, and some grasses.
