The Gray Fox (Urocyon cinereoargenteus) is a species of fox distributed from southern Canada to Venezuela. Young foxes are called kits. A group of foxes is a skulk.

Description

It has a gray back, tawny sides, neck, and legs, a white belly and a black stripe along its back and tail. Another black stripe crosses its face from the nose to the eye and then to the side of the head.

Habitat and Diet

Gray Foxes are forest dwellers and together with the closely related Island Foxes they are the only canids able to climb trees. They like wooded areas and partially open brush land with liitle human activity. They hunt gooses squirrels, mice, and birds, sometimes foraging for berries.
