Grazier (Australian agriculture)

From Freepedia

A Grazier is the Australian equivalent of the North American Rancher.

  1. a person who cares for cattle (and possibly other herd animals) whilst they graze.
  2. (Australian) one who owns and runs a usually large cattle or sheep farm

A grazier lives on a property called a Station, which is the equivalent of the North American Ranch. The grazier raises livestock such as cattle on a Cattle Station, sheep on a Sheep Station.

In Britain, the term is no longer used, but has historical significance.
