Guiana
From Freepedia
Guiana (also known as the Guiana highlands or the Guiana shield) forms a portion of the northern coast of South America. It is a very old geological formation that hosts the impressive and mysterious table-like mountains called tepuis, which are the source of some of highest waterfalls in the world, such as the Angel falls or Kuquenan falls. The main portion of the highlands are located in south eastern Venezuela, and are partly protected by the Canaima National Park.
The region extends southwards into Brazil, and eastwards into Guyana (previous British Guiana), French Guiana, and Suriname (previous Dutch Guiana). The term the Guianas is often used as a collective name for the latter three countries.
