HMS Cobra

From Freepedia

HMS Cobra, named after the cobra snake, was a destroyer of the Royal Navy, launched in 1899 but wrecked in 1901.

The navigating party on board the Cobra numbered fifty-four, of whom ten were saved and forty-four lost, and the contractors' party and others on board numbered twenty-five, of whom twenty-three were drowned and two saved. The total number drowned was thus sixty-seven. [This anecdote is a quote from a contemporary Portsmouth newspaper.]
