He spent some time in the NWA's Jim Crockett Promotions in the mid-1980's. He was the masked Lazer-Tron who teamed with Jimmy Valiant. Together, they feuded with The New Breed, Chris Champion and Sean Royal. Alone, he feuded with "Downtown" Denny Brown for the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Title. He also teamed with Manny Fernandez as the Latin Connection until Fernandez turned on him to join Rick Rude and Paul Jones.
He wrestled in the American Wrestling Association in the late 1980's, winning the Tag Team Titles while there.
Hector also appeared in the WWF as the Gobbledygooker; the gimmick is widely conceded to be one of WWF/WWE's biggest embarrassments.
He has a bachelor's degree in Physical Education from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP).
Hector is a born-again Christian and can be found occasionally wrestling on Ted DiBiase's religion & wrestling shows.
