A hybrid in biology refers to the offspring resulting from cross-breeding of different species.
Hybrid generally refers to something of mixed origin or composition:
- Hybrid vehicle, a vehicle that uses a mixture of technologies such as internal combustion engines and electric motors.
- Hybrid bicycle, a cross between a road and mountain bicycle.
- Hybrid word, a word with mixed etymologies.
- Hybrid (band), is a British electronic music group formed in the late 1990s.

- Resistance hybrid or a hybrid coil.
- Systems containing both continuous and discrete sample times. (For example: in control theory.)
