Immum Coeli
From Freepedia
In astrology, the Immum Coeli, or IC, is the point in space where the ecliptic crosses the Meridian in the north, exactly opposite the Midheaven in degrees and marking the 4th house cusp in most house systems (this is reversed in the southern hemisphere).
In astrology, the is said to refer to our roots and also the least conscious part of ourselves. It denotes our foundations, our beginnings in life, and what we may have experienced through parental inheritance and homeland influences. It relates to our security needs and our relationship with home and family life. It also partially relates to the circumstances that we will encounter at the end of our life.
Since it is (usually) the cusp of the 4th house in most natal charts, it corresponds to the 4th astrological sign in the Natural Zodiac, which is Cancer.
In many cases the IC quite often refers to a parent, usually the father, but sometimes the mother.
