- Jacques Androuet (c.1520 - c.1584) was the founder of the family of architects. He was surnamed "du Cerceau" from the emblem of a circle marking his workshop. He designed two châteaux, Verneuil and Charleval. His two sons worked on the Louvre:
- Baptiste Androuet du Cerceau (c.1545 - 1590) designed the Pont Neuf spanning the Seine in Paris.
- Jacques Androuet du Cerceau (c.1556–1614) worked on the Tuileries Palace.
- Jean Androuet du Cerceau (c.1585 - 1650) was Baptiste's son. He is known for his mansions in Paris, including the Hôtel de Sully.
