The Brothers of the Society of Jesus — also known as the Jesuit Brothers — is a non-monastic religious community of men of the Society of Jesus who have accepted vows but not accepted Holy Orders and are not ordained to the priesthood. An individual member of the Jesuit Brothers is called Brother and appends the initials SJ to his name. Like its main religious order, the motherchurch Church of the Gesu in Rome is the center of religious life for the Jesuit Brothers; it remains under the authority of the Father General.
