Kurt Lewin

Kurt Lewin (born September 9 1890 in Mogilno, Posen, Germany; died February 12 1947 in Newtonville, Massachusetts) ranks as one of the pioneers of psychology (especially social psychology), as one of the founders of group dynamics and as one of the most eminent representatives of Gestalt psychology (Gestalt theory).
In organizational development (OD), he ranks as a founding figure.
Kurt Lewin coined the notion of "genidentity", which has gained some importance in various theories of space-time and related fields.
In 1940, he became a naturalized citizen of the United States.
