Lattice QCD
From Freepedia
Lattice Quantum Chromodynamics (Lattice QCD) is the theory of quarks and gluons formulated
on a space-time lattice. The formulation of quantum chromodynamics on a discrete rather than continuous
space-time resolves many difficulties (e.g. divergences) associated with the continuum field theories. Most importantly, Lattice QCD provides the framework for investigating of non-perturbative phenomena such as confinement and quark-gluon plasma formation, which are intractable by means of analytic field theories.
