Lin Sue Cooney (born c. 1970) is a television reporter who works at Arizona's Channel 12 NBC affiliate.

Biography

Lin Sue Cooney, who is part Asian, grew up in Oregon. After graduating from high school, Cooney attended the Willamette University as well as the Northwestern University in her home state.

She graduated as a magna cum laude student from Willamette, obtaining a bachelor's degree in English and political science. She completed her studies towards becoming a news reporter by earning a master's degree in journalism from Northwestern's Medill School of Journalism.

Soon after graduating from both universities, Lin Sue Cooney moved to Beaumont, Texas, where she got her first on-camera experience as a journalist. After her stint in Beaumont, she moved to Dallas, where she became news anchor at WFAA-TV and a local celebrity.

Cooney also had the opportunity to host a show while in Dallas. She was the host of a local show geared towards young adults. The show was named PM Magazine.

Having obtained experience in Texas as a news anchor and show host, Cooney next moved to Phoenix, where she immediately became news anchor at KPNX-TV Channel 12.

Cooney has embraced many causes, such as breast cancer and education. She also has a news section named Against All Odds, where she interviews people that channel 12 considers heroes due to certain circumstances. Just like she did before in Dallas, Cooney also became a local celebrity in Phoenix, and her photo is often seen on billboards there announcing Channel 12 news.

It has actually been reported that Playboy magazine made Cooney an offer to pose for the publication.

Cooney is married and has three children.
