The minister-president of Flanders is the head of government of the Flemish region and community, which is a federal state of Belgium.

Usually the leader of the biggest party of Flemish Parliament becomes the minister-president. Regional elections are held every 5 years. The Flemish Parliament was elected directly for the first time in 1995, before 1995 the members of the Flemish Parliament would be appointed by the Federal Parliament of Belgium.
