Lithuanian rock

From Freepedia

Popular modern Lithuanian rock bands include the Andrius Mamontovas, Lemon Joy, country rock band Vienkiemis and alternative rock band Mountainside. Lithuania (as well as the neighboring Baltic states of Latvia and Estonia) has long had a large audience for rock and roll, even during the underground period of Soviet rule. American and British rock stars became celebrities in Lithuania and inspired many younger performers; Frank Zappa was so popular among the rock underground that, following independence, a statue of him was built [1] despite there being no direct connection between Zappa and Lithuania. In 1992, the newly-independent Lithuania sent a basketball team to the Olympics and won the bronze; the team wore psychedelic t-shirts provided by the legendary rock band Grateful Dead to the award show.
