Lonicera fly

From Freepedia

The Lonicera fly is a new species of fruit fly that has developed within only 250 years from two other species, a process called hybridization. These findings were published in Nature by a research team lead by Dietmar Schwarz at Pennsylvania State University in 2005. Until then, hybridization has been known only in plants.

The new species was named after its host plant lonicera.
