Magnoliid

In the APG-system, the Magnoliid complex is a name for a group within the flowering plants (Angiosperms). The composition of the Magnoliid complex is comparable to the Magnoliideae in the Cronquist system, which was the basal group of the Magnoliopsida (dicotyledons). Within the APG-system, they are part neither of the monocots nor the eudicots, rather, they are the most important of the basal groups (see palaeodicots).
