Matthew "Matt" Biondi (born October 8, 1965) is an Olympic swimmer. He swam in the 1984, 1988, 1992 and 1996 Olympics, and won seven medals in the 1988 Summer Olympics alone (5 were gold medals) and won bronze medal in the same games losing to Anthony Nesty, the eventual winner of 100 m butterfly event, for which he was the pre games favourite.
In total he has won 11 Olympics medals (8 gold, 2 silver and a bronze medal) in three Olympics.
He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 1988. He lives in Kamuela, Hawaii, where he teaches math, U.S. History and swimming at Parker School, a small private prep school.
