(Redirected from Maxillary sinus)

The maxillary sinus is the largest paranasal sinus. It is intimately related to the upper teeth, tear duct, and the floor of the orbital cavity. Pyramidal in shape, it sits within the body of the maxilla, is lined with respiratory epithelium and contains air. It is linked to the middle meatus by the hiatus semilunaris.
