Metronet

Metronet is a private company, which is responsible for the maintenance, renewal and upgrade of the Underground infrastructure on 9 London Underground lines, including track, trains, signals, civil work and stations. Metronet has five shareholders: Atkins, Balfour Beatty, Bombardier, EDF Energy, and RWE Thames Water.

Since January 2003 the London Underground has been operated as a Public-Private Partnership (PPP), where all the infrastructure is maintained by private companies but the Underground is still owned and operated by Transport for London (TfL). All line contracts have a duration of 30 years and Metronet won the contract for the following BCV and SSL lines:
