Minority can refer to a number of things:

• a minority, a sub-group that does not form either a majority or a plurality of the total population;
  • a dominant minority, a group that has great political power or economic power despite comprising a small proportion of the population;
• a subculture, a sub-group with a distinct set of behaviour and beliefs;
• the period of a person's life when they are a minor, before reaching legal adulthood.
