The Church or Monastery of São Vicente de Fora — meaning "of St. Vincent Without the Walls" is a 17th century church based on a previous medieval church and 16th century monastery in Lisbon, Portugal. The name has its origins in 1173 when the relics of Saint Vincent of Saragossa were moved from the Algarve to Lisbon and a church was built on the outside of the city walls thus the name Saint Vincent on the Outside.
Behind the Church there is a large chamber that constitutes the Portuguese National Pantheon, where many prominent people of Portuguese history are buried, including most of the monarchs and members of the royal family of the House of Braganza.
