Monoglottism

From Freepedia

Monoglottism (Greek monos, "alone, solitary", + glotta, "tongue, language") is the condition of being able to speak only a single language. Monoglot speakers are very common in English-speaking countries like the United States and the United Kingdom, where the ability to speak English is often perceived as being enough to communicate with people from the rest of the world, but in many other regions being able to speak two or three or more different languages is a part of everyday life.
