Monograph
From Freepedia
A monograph is a scholarly book or a treatise on a single subject or a group of related subjects. It is a one-time publication that is complete in itself. A more specific definition is: a lengthy work on a particular subject or person, detailed in treatment and often containing bibliographies.
In library and information science, a monograph is a nonserial publication complete in one volume or a finite number of volumes. Thus it differs from a serial publication such as a magazine, journal or newspaper. It is what is commonly known as a book.
South African Institute for Security Studies publishes a periodical called Monographs [1], sponsored by the Hanns Seidel Foundation, for the African Human Security Initiative.
