Morelly
From Freepedia
Morelly was a French scholar during the late eighteenth century. Aside from his last name, nothing else is known about him. He is considered one of the first socialist philosophers.
He wrote an epic poem called the Basiliad, which featured a communist utopia country in a far away land. After he became criticized for this poem, Morelly wrote The Code of Nature in an effort to justify and rationalize his views.
