Mount Mandara

Mount Mandara is a mountain which appears in the Samudra manthan episode in the Hindu Puranas. It was used as a churning rod to churn the ocean of milk. The word Mandara is a shortened form of Mandhara. Mandhara also means 'concentration of the mind' or 'single thought stream' and is composed of the words Mana (mind) and Dhara (single stream or thought).
