Mount Townsend is the second highest peak of Australia. Located in the state of New South Wales, it is only 2.28 miles (3.68 km) from Australia's highest peak Mount Kosciuszko. While technically the second highest peak in Australia, Mount Townsend is arguably a more interesting and dominant peak.
