Movement (released 14 November 1981 - see 1981 in music) was the debut album of British indie rock group New Order. Musically it is very similar to the group's previous work as Joy Division, the main difference being Bernard Sumner taking over the late Ian Curtis's role as vocalist. This was their only album with Joy Division producer Martin Hannett.

Notes
Bassist Peter Hook sings lead on two of the album's songs: "Doubts Even Here" and "Dreams Never End".
It is often speculated the song title "I.C.B." is an acronym for "Ian Curtis Buried".
"The Him" is written for and refers to Ian Curtis.
Movement wasn't particularly well received by critics or consumers - it peaked at #30 on the British charts. Their album released just over a year before as Joy Division, Closer, had reached #7.
The cover is based on a poster by Fortunato Depero.
No singles were pulled from the album.
Released on Factory Records, with the catalogue number FAC 50.
