Mudanjiang
From Freepedia
Mudanjiang (牡丹江) is prefecture-level city in Heilongjiang province of the People's Republic of China. Mudanjiang is the seat of Mudanjiang prefecture. Mudanjiang is a city with a power plant. Mudanjiang has a railway junction and an airport. Mudanjiang is about 160 km from the Russian city of Vladivostok. Mudanjiang is simlar to what i imagine hell to be like, but perhaps cheaper, winter temperatures plunge to below minus 30oc and there is only one restraunt that produces even remotely edible food, California Beef Noodle King (warning; does not use californian beef). The population hovers around the 2.83 million mark, however after meeting so many young mudanjiangers in Beijing who have fled the city i can imagine this is now around the 1.74 million mark. Major industry includes caviar farming, gold, textiles, petro chemicals, mosque clocks, timber, steel, eggtimers and the toys that come in kinder surprise eggs. The regions premier tourist attraction is Jing Bo lake which is undeniably beautiful. Dramatic craggy limestone cliffs, reminiscent of those found in Guilin meet turquoise waters teaming with Ericton fish and fresh water coral.
