Nacho Libre is an upcoming film starring Jack Black to be directed by Jared Hess of Napoleon Dynamite fame. The movie is set within the world of lucha libre. The script is by Jared Hess, Jerusha Hess, and Mike White. The producers are Jack Black, David Klawans, Julia Pistor, and Mike White. It is set for a June 2 2006 release by Paramount.

In it, Black plays a friar named Nacho. He was raised in a monastery where he is now the cook. Nacho finds a way to earn money for the holy place by wrestling, even though it is strictly forbidden by the church elders. Naturally, Nacho isn't acting out of purely altruistic measures, as he wishes to help Sister Encarnacion, a beautiful Mexican nun who has recently arrived at the monastery.
