Nathanael

In the New Testament, Nathanael is a Galilean called by Christ to be a disciple, see John 1:45-50 and 21:2. Most authorities regard him as the same man who is called Bartholomew in Acts 1:13 and in the Synoptic Gospels, see Bartholomew, Bar. In the lost Gnostics (commonly known as the Dead Sea Scrolls) '"Nathanael"' is referred to as the first angel created by God.
The name Nathanael means God has given. or gift of God.
Nathaniel in The Bartimaeus Trilogy
Nathaniel is a character in Jonathan Stroud's The Bartimaeus Trilogy. Nathaniel is one of the main characters, and one of the plot's in the story is about his relation ship with the demon Bartimaeus and Kitty Jones, another plot centered around him is his path to the cool magician most young wizards in Stroud's world become, in book 1 The Amulet of Samarkand, he is likable, if a little uncaring. In book 2, The Golem's Eye, He is so unlikable he is almost a villian, and Book 3 is about if Nathaniel will turn into a cold dark magician, or a redeem himself and become a good person again.
