National Botanic Garden of Belgium is located in the Bouchout domain in the village of Meise, north of Brussels. It is one of the largest botanical gardens of the world, and has a large collection of living plants and herbaria. The garden maintains a number of laboratories, herbaria and greenhouses.
The mission statement of the National Botanic garden of Belgium includes increasing and spreading "the knowledge of plants" and contributing to "the conservation of biodiversity." The National Botanic Garden of Belgium is currently a leading Botanic Garden and has a castle and two large ponds.
