Nevado Mismi

Nevado Mismi 15° 31′ 31″ S, 71° 41′ 27″ W is a mountain peak located in the Andes Mountain range within Peru.
Nevado Mismi has an elevation of 18,363 ft (5,597 meters) and is located about 160 km west of Lake Titicaca and 700 km southeast of Peru's capital city, Lima.
In 2001 Nevado Mismi has been verified as the source of the Amazon River. The Río Apurímac originates on the northern slopes of Nevado Mismi and then runs a course through other tributaries and rivers to help form the main Amazon River.
