Nose guard

Nose Guard is a position in American football. They are the weakside interior lineman on the defense. Usually lines up in a 1 technique, a position where his nose is over the inside shoulder of the guard, or on the outside shoulder of the center or head-up with the center(Usually this occurs in a 3-3, 3-4, 5-1, or 5-2 defense).

Nose guards tend to be shorter than most other defensive linemen so they can get through the gaps easier. They are also very fast and very strong.
