Parahuman

From Freepedia

(Redirected from Parahumans)

Parahumans are chimera of humans and other species.

A chimera is a mixture of two or more distinct populations of cells in one body. For example, faulty human heart valves are routinely replaced with ones taken from cows and pigs. This surgery effectively makes the recipient a human-animal chimera. Additionally, scientists have years ago added human genes to bacteria and farm animals.

Another possibility is the growth of human organs in chimera, e.g. a pig that grows a human heart. The heart could even be derived from genetic material from the future recipient, in which case the recipient would not be a chimera.
