Permeability

Permeability has several meanings:

  1. In electromagnetism, permeability is the degree of magnetisation of a material in response to a magnetic field.
  2. In geology, permeability is a measure of the ability of a material to transmit fluids through it. See also permeability tensor for materials that are not isotropic.
  3. For chemical and biological applications see semipermeable membrane. See also vascular permeability.
