Pleione (mythology)
From Freepedia
In Greek mythology, Pleione was the sea-nymph Oceanid of Mount Cyllene in Arkadia, southern Greece. She was daughter of Oceanus and Tethys. Pleione became the wife of the Titan Atlas, with whom she bore the seven Pleiades. She was probably an EPIMELIS (Sheep Nymphe) goddess who presided over the multiplying the sheep flocks and cattle herds. Her name means "to increase in number" and her grandson, Hermes, was the god of animal husbandry.
