Providencia (bacterium)

Urinanalysis was positive for leukocyte esterase and nitrates. A Gram-stained smear of urine showed gram-negative rods and polymorphonuclear leukocytes. Urine culture yielded growth of 104 colony-forming units (CFU)/mL of Providencia stuartii. The organism was sensitive to ampicillin.
