Province of Sassari

Sassari (It. Provincia di Sassari) is a province in the autonomous island region of Sardinia in Italy. Its capital is the city of Sassari.

It has an area of 7,520 sq km, and a total population of 453,628 (2001). There are 90 communes in the province (source: Italian institute of statistics Istat, see this link).
