Province of Vibo Valentia

Vibo Valentia (It. Provincia di Vibo Valentia) is a province in the Calabria region (Italy), recently set by a national law in 1992 (the 6th of march) and formerly belonging to the Province of Catanzaro. Its capital is the city of Vibo Valentia and its license plate is VV.
The Province has an area of 1,139 sq km (7.6% of the total surface of Calabria), and a total population of 171,952 (ISTAT Census 2001). There are 50 municipalities in the province (source: Italian institute of statistics Istat, see this link).
