Psychrophilic

Psychrophiles are organisms capable of growth and reproduction in extreme cold, usually defined as temperatures below 15 degrees Centigrade. They are present in cold alpine and arctic soils, high-latitude and deep ocean waters, arctic ice, glaciers, and snowfields. Most psychrophiles are Archaeans or Bacteria.
