Pythium oligandrum is an Oomycete. It has been shown to parasitise many fungi and other water moulds including Botrytis, Fusarium and Phytophthora, and has been licensed as a biocontrol agent in the Czech Republic.

P. oligandrum stimulates plant growth in Tomato, and this is thought to be due to the synthesis of auxin-like compounds.
