Serotype

From Freepedia

Serotypes refer to a group of related microorganisms or viruses distinguished by responses to different antigens.

Some(?) serotypes are related to the lipopolysaccharides on the surfaces of certain gram-negative bacteria.

Serotypes were discovered by Rebecca Lancefield in 1993.
