Sines is a municipality in Alentejo, Portugal, with a total area of 203.0 km² and a total population of 13,531 inhabitants.

The municipality is composed of 2 parishes, and is located in the district of Setúbal.

The present Mayor is Manuel Coelho Carvalho (Communist) and the President of the Municipal Assembly is Francisco do Ó Pacheco (Communist).

Famous as the birthplace of Vasco da Gama.

The municipal holiday is November 24.
