Snare

Snare may mean:
- A kind of trap used in trapping.
- Also a kind of drum: see snare drum.
- Also an acronym for "soluble NSF attachment protein receptor" or SNARE proteins, a family of proteins involved in the exocytosis of vesicles/secretory granules, such as in neurotransmitter release or mast cell degranulation. See Mast cell and Neurotransmitter or [1] (pretty advanced stuff).
- The Snares, a group of islands located approximately 200 kilometres south of New Zealand's South Island.
