The Spire in a mollusc shell constitutes all the whorls of a spiral shell exclusive except for the body whorl.


Turbinoform, Turbinate: having a broadly conical spire and convex base, as in Turbo. Turban-shaped.

Turriform: With a many whorled, slender spire, as in Turittella.
