Staff Sgt. George T Alexander Jr. was the 2000th American military casualty of the war in Iraq. His hometown was Killeen, Texas, and he was 34 years old. He was wounded when a bomb exploded near his Bradley Fighting Vehicle on October 17, while operating in the town of Samarra. He died on October 22nd.

Details of his death were released on October 25th, 2005.
