Syndication

In the entertainment and news industries, syndication is a method of making content available to a range of outlets simultaneously. Syndication is important in several different forms of mass media.
- In television syndication and radio syndication, individual stations buy programs outside of the network system. This most commonly involves daytime talk shows, strip reruns of popular network sitcoms and drama series, or original first-run sitcoms and dramas, although other types of programming have been syndicated as well.
- In print syndication, individual newspapers or magazines license news articles, columns, or comic strips.
- In web syndication, web feeds (usually called RSS feeds for "Really Simple Syndication"), make a portion of a web site available to other sites or individual subscribers.
- In the thoroughbred horse racing industry, syndication is the sale of the breeding rights to a specific stallion to a group of investors.
