Takakia is a genus of two species of moss-like plants. The genus is of somewhat uncertain placement: it has been considered a Liverwort, or alternately a moss, it having both moss-like and liverwort-like characteristics.
It can be regarded as a family (of one genus), Takakiaceae, and as an order, Takakiales, (of one genus).
The geographic distribution is in North America and Asia.
