Tampere United

Tampere United is a Finnish football club, playing in the city of Tampere.
Club was formed in July 1998. Initial plan was to join two two local football clubs FC Ilves and TPV but at the end of the day TPV continued as its own team, FC Ilves continued to play in lower divisions and Tampere United inherited its place in the top division.
On their first season, 1999 they won last year's Finnish Cup winner FC Haka 2-0, rising to league 15 months after forming of club. During season 2000 they reached place 6. on league. On their third season 2001 they won the Cup, ending Haka's three years row of Finnish Cup victories. 2002 5. place, 2003 3. place.
The current coach of the club is Ari Hjelm.
